Faucet error: the faucet is out of funds

What this error means, why the faucet returns it, and the fastest way to get your test tokens anyway.

The error

Faucets word this differently, but these are the same problem:

Why it happens

The faucet's dispensing wallet has been drained and nobody has topped it up. The site stays online and the form still submits, which is why this is so often mistaken for a bug on your side. Uptime monitoring that only checks whether the page loads cannot tell the difference.

How to fix it

  1. Check the dispensing wallet balance. For every faucet we can verify on-chain, the token page shows the live wallet balance and when it last paid out — a zero balance is definitive.
  2. Prefer an on-chain-verified faucet. A faucet marked ⛓ Verified on-chain with a recent payout is demonstrably funded, not merely reachable.
  3. Try a smaller request where the amount is adjustable. A nearly-dry faucet will often still fund a minimal claim.
  4. Move to the alternative faucet for that token. Dry spells usually end when the operator refills, which can take days.
